About Us
The Department of Medical Gastroenterology provides comprehensive care for patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary tract and pancreas. Alongside patient care, the department is committed to training DM Gastroenterology residents and to promoting clinical research.
As the only Government Medical College in Kerala offering liver transplantation services, the department caters to patients from all over the state. We strive to maintain a high standard of patient care despite a heavy patient load

- The only liver transplantation programme among Government Medical Colleges in Kerala, run jointly with the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology
- The only Government Medical College in South Kerala offering endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and manometry services
