 Facilities of Plastic Surgery Department

1.Surgical correcetion of congenital anomalies
 a) Cranio facial anomalies- Cleft lip, Cleft Palate
 b) Secondary corrections- Alveolar bone grafting, Cleft lip nose correction, surgeries for speech problems in cleft palate
c) Correction of congenital Hand anomalies - joined fingers, extra fingers, absent thumb
d) Correction of genital anomalies- Hypospadias,absent vagina

2.Reconstructive surgery for trauma, malignancies especially head and neck malignancies

3. Micro Vascular Surgery; The only institution in government sector Kerala routinely doing micro vascular surgeries in large volumes- replantation surgeries, free flaps, brachial plexus surgeries We have highly advanced Carl Zeiss s88 microscope and imported micro instruments

4. BRACHIAL PLEXUS Surgery; We are doing various micro surgeries for obstetric birth palsies of brachial plexus as well as past traumatic brachial plexus injuries

4.Aesthetic Surgery- Breast reduction,Breast augmentation,Gynecomastia corrections, Abdominoplasty ('tummy tuck'), Rhinoplasty, Liposuction, Face lift, Hair transplant and many more

  • Routine Plastic Surgery work like skin grafts,flaps, scar revisions, excision of lesions

  • Reconstructive Surgery for trauma and malignancies, especially head and neck malignancies

  • Microvascular Surgery

  • Aesthetic Surgery - Rhinoplasty, Breast reduction and augmentation, Abdominoplaty, Liposuction, Dermabrasion, face lift, blapharoplasty

  • Surgical correction of cleft lip, cleft palate and other congenital anomalies

  • Hand surgery

  • Burns care

V.   Continuing Medical Education (CME's)

3 CMEs per year are conducted by the Kerala association of Plastic Surgeons (KPSA) to cover the entire M.Ch. syllabus in 3 years time. CME on Lower limb reconstruction was conducted by the Department

VI.   Conferences

The  KPSA annual Conference (KPSACON 2013 ) was conducted at Kottayam -April 2013
