CHC Koodalloor is the Rural Health Training Centre, 18 KM away from Medical College campus. This is a Community Health Centre under the Health Service Department of Kerala state.
Pampady block panchayath overseas the hospital management committee. The institution caters mainly to Kidangoor gramapanchayath with a population of around 23000, people from nearby Kanakkari, Kadaplamattom and Ayarkkunnam Panchayaths also are benefited. This is an Accredited training centre for Nursing students of Little Lourde Mission college of Nursing, Kidangoor, Marsleeva College of Nursing Cherpunkal and Velankanni Matha College of Nursing Thellakom. We regularly provide field training to Health Inspector Diploma course students of Bharath Matha college of Medical Technology, Kuravilangadu. The CHC functions free of cost for the public. All immunisation under UIP of Govt Of India are given free. With two units of specially trained palliative care team, we also male regular home visits for the bedridden. Regular outreach immunisation clinics are conducted under 4 subcentres of Kidangoor Panchayaths, NCD clinics are conducted on fixed days in these subcentres.
The RBSK nurses provide regular Health screening for all students enrolled in schools as well as Anganwadis. One Adolescent Health counsellor gives regular counselling sections to school students. Six Middle Level Service Provider Nurses under NHM conduct fixed day clinics in all the 15 wards. With these regular activities we are able to detect and treat all life style diseases in the early stage itself. Cancer Care Detection Programme under the name of CaN KOTTAYAM is implemented as panchayath project from 2022 onwards. This programme helps to detect cancer in the community in the very early stage itself. Interns of Department of Community Medicine take part in all these activities on a regular basis.
