About Us

Department of Medical Neurology is providing comprehensive care to the patients suffering from the all diseases pertaining to Central Nervous system like Epilepsy, Stroke,Headache, Dementias, Parkinson’s Disease Multiple Sclerosis &related disorders.Peripheral nervous system disorders like Guillain Barre Syndrome, Peripheral,Polyneuropathies, Myasthenia and similar illnesses are also managed in our department.We do enhance research activities and trains for DM Residents and other Residents who are posted here. We are planning to materialise a comprehensive Stroke Center with the State of the Art Facilities. We are striving to maintain excellent patient care inspite of the heavy patient load.
- Electroencephalography (EEG) – a test to diagnose and monitor epilepsy and altered states of consciousness
- Nerve conduction study and Electromyography used to diagnose disorders of peripheral nervous system such as carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathies and disorders of the muscle.
- Polysomnography used to diagnose sleep disorders
- Acute stroke care which involves the timely diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients. This includes the use of intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy to remove blood clots and restore blood flow to the brain. This is done with the help from the departments of interventional radiology and Neurosurgery.
