The MBBS student’s annual intake was increased to 150 in 2006

2 postgraduate seats were sanctioned the year 2010

Departmental Objectives

1. To educate the undergraduate and postgraduate medical, paramedical and science students to apply basic principles of pharmacology and therapeutics to practice rational use of drugs

2. To facilitate basic and applied research that significantly advances current pharmacological knowledge. To promote drug based research and participate in clinical trials and scientific works with special concern on the ethical aspects

3. To provide academic services and patient care facilities

4. Monitor and evaluate adverse drug reactions and promote the concept of Pharmacovigilance
